ZELMA'S GARDEN

Zelma indulges in making art that bursts creative improvisational and free verse. She responds to a variety of musical genres; scat, blues, jazz, to classical scores. Her pen line drawings display focus on her love of floral motifs as well as highly sensuous responsiveness to the curving landscape of the female form. It is a rewarding outcome of my 33 years of hard work to design one of a kind sculpture that combine paper and vine constructions to harmonize woven willow texture and color. The Philadelphia and Smithsonian craft shows helped her re-emerge into the art world. "Zelma‘s Garden" draws from nature themes to create mesmerizing, varied crowning floral HAKU headdresses.
